THE CK722
CLASSIC GERMANIUM TRANSISTOR MUSEUM PHOTOGALLERY |
BUCKET OF TRANSISTORS |
|
This truly amazing photo
was on the cover of the March 1953 Electronics magazine. It shows the temperature cycling racks
that were used by Raytheon for “testing and aging” the CK718/721/722
germanium junction transistors at the 55 Chapel St., Newton Massachusetts
manufacturing facility. According to Frank Dukat, the Raytheon Transistor
Applications Product Manager at this time, “ the transistors were regularly
inventoried before and after these tests. The count always showed
none missing. However, one day, the
racks were up for maintenance and many, many transistors were found at the bottom of the oven!!”
- I’D JUST LIKE TO FIND THAT BUCKET IN THE PHOTO WHICH IS FILLED TO THE BRIM
WITH CK TRANSISTORS!! |
